Terms & Conditions

1) Acceptance of Works

  1. ALPM/ALD reserves the right to refuse or decline any work at its own discretion.
  2. Work shall begin on the day that you confirm acceptance of our quotation, estimate, scope of work or other documentation setting out the works (as applicable). A job start date will be arranged and materials (if required) will be ordered as soon as this confirmation is received.

2) Price, Estimates

  1. Estimates/Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
  2. If an estimate/quote is accepted after the 30 days, ALPM/ALD has the right to re-quote/re-estimate the works in accordance with materials costs and labour cost increase that may have happened in between the time of the estimate/quote being provided and accepted.
  3. Once estimates/quotes have been accepted, cancellation of the job is possible, but you will be charged for the labour or materials of the works depending on the type of work. This would be decided at the time of the cancellation with the client.
  4. Estimates/Quotes can be based on the information made available to ALPM/ALD by the customer, but this would be subject to site survey. If during the conduct of the works it becomes apparent to ALPM/ALD that the information was either incorrect or insufficient in any respect that ALPM/ALD considers to be material, ALPM/ALD reserves the right to inform the customer and to increase the estimated price to take account of the revised information, and if prior to carrying out the works, there is an increase in the cost of any relevant materials, equipment hire or transport since the date upon which ALPM/ALD estimate, written, emailed or oral, was provided, ALPM/ALD reserves the right to inform the Customer and to provide a revised estimate incorporating that increase.

3) Completion Dates

  1. Dates/times specified for commencement and completion of works are estimates only.
  2. However, ALPM/ALD accepts no liability in respect of non-attendance or late attendance on site of the late or non-delivery of materials.

4) Cancellations

  1. If you wish to cancel a call out with ALPM/ALD, you will need to provide a 48 hours’ notice of the cancellation. If the cancellation is provided without the above notice, then a cancellation fee will be issued.
  2. If you wish to cancel accepted quoted/estimated works with ALPM/ALD, you will be liable for the costs of the works depending on works. This can be varied between being charged for the labour or the materials or the engineers’/contractors’ time lost.
  3. You lose the right to cancel any service once it has been completed (you must pay for the services provided).
  4. If the engineer/contractor arrives at the site of works with a confirmed booking and access is not possible, then the client will be responsible for any failed visit charges that may occur.

5) Indemnities

  1. The Customer shall indemnify ALPM/ALD against any and all actions, claims, demands, suits, losses, costs, expenses, and charges which ALPM/ALD may suffer or incur in connection with a claim by a third party, resulting from a breach of the Customer’s obligations, undertakings and representations and warranties in connection with this Contract.

6) Force Majeure

  1. ALPM/ALD will use all reasonable efforts to conduct and complete the works on time but shall not be liable to the customer or any third party if the works are delayed or prove impossible due to events or circumstances beyond ALPM/ALD reasonable control.

7) Payment

  1. Invoices are payable within 14 days or 30 days depending on the issue date and invoice received.
  2. All late invoices will be automatically passed over to our accounts team which will obtain immediate collection of payment.
  3. Where the customer is represented by a third party (such as managing agent, tenant or other occupier, contractor, or other representative), in the event of non-payment by the customer, the third party will be responsible for payment unless ALPM/ALD agreed otherwise in writing.
  4. For any works which will take a period of time to complete ALPM/ALD reserves the right to raise an interim/progress invoice in respect of works conducted and materials provided up to the date of the interim/progress invoice.
  5. For any works over a certain amount ALPM/ALD reserves the right to require a 50% deposit to be paid prior to any works commencing. The balance invoice will be required upon completion of the works.
